do promiscuous gorillas wash their hands before picking bananas?

han's (elvis tsui) gang rob an armoured car, but one of their team is captured by a rookie cop, wong (aaron kwok), who then witnesses han raiding a police station to free his captured partner. after such a brazen attack on the police, inspectors ma and liu (leung kar-yan and lau ching-wan, respectively) are drafted in to solve the case, with wong and hsi (kingdom yuen) being volunteered to provide back-up. however, wong finds himself distracted by min (fanny yuen), a karaoke songstress who may just be ...

it is by no means great, but i really found myself enjoying this: kwok isn't terrible, yuen is always watchable, whilst leung and lau make a reasonable pairing. oh, and elvis tsui is in good form. there's a nice mixture of fun, comedic elements and some pretty good action sequences, care of jackie chan's stunt team, thrown in for good measure. 'the shootout' doesn't really excel in any area, but neither does it let you down; and, in the end, what you get is a very watchable affair...

fun...

the dvd is hk$32 from buyoyo.com
