night at the museum : battle of the smithsonian

in some countries, my hair is considered currency...

having sorted out the troubles at the museum in the first film, larry (ben stiller) has moved on with his life and is now selling inventions, based around his adventures in the first film. all seems well but, when he visits the museum, he discovers that a lot of the exhibits are being moved into storage at the smithsonian in washington. however, the ancient tablet which brings the exhibits to life isn't going with them. very sad...

but, hey, that wouldn't make a very good film, would it?

so, after discovering that the cheeky capuchin monkey decided to steal the tablet, larry gets a call from cowboy jedediah (owen wilson), informing him that the evil pharaoh kahmunrah (hank azaria) has been brought to life by the tablet, along with a whole host of other baddies, and that larry needs to get his ass to washington and sort things out...

you know, i think i enjoyed this more than the first film. the smithsonian archives are a location which is much more fun and the addition of hank azaria is very welcome. however, the jewel in the crown is amy adams: woo! who is just lovely and plays amelia earhart with gusto and seems to be really enjoying herself.

any hoo, fun stuff...

the film is currently on general release.
